新春にふさわしい詩を見つけました‼

それを２０１９年、新春のご挨拶に代えたいと思います。

 

三浦雄一郎氏の南米最高峰を目指すというニュースが先日。

彼は８６歳

なんて素敵と💓

チレンジし続ける限り、いくつであろうが

青春真っただ中ということでしょうか。

 

 

今年が皆さまの青春の輝かしい１ページになられますことを、

心よりお祈り申し上げます。

青年賦(原題:YOUTH)

青年とは齢の若さを指すのではない

精神の溌剌さをいうのである

青年とは豊かな頬　赤い唇　柔らかい肢体をいうのではなく

意志の力　創造力　感激性を指すのである

齢を重ねるだけでも誰もが老いてゆくのでは無い

理想を失い自信をなくした時にのみ人は老いる

年齢は皮膚に皺をよせるが　情熱を失うとその人の魂に皺がよる

常に明るい希望を持ち　勇気凛凛未来の夢に挑戦する人

生命の歓喜を神仏に感謝する人であれば

五十歳であろうと七十歳であろうと　

その人は青年である

春たけなわの新鮮さこそ　青年の魂の本当の姿である

 

サムエル・ウルマン

１８４０年４月１３日、ドイツのヘヒンゲンでユダヤ人両親の長男として生まれる。

その後、両親とともにアメリカに移民し、後半生をアラバマ州バーミングハムで過ごす。

「青春の詩」は、ウルマンが７０代で書いたとされる

Youth is not a time of life,　it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions, it is the freshness of the deep springs of ilfe. Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite,　for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in man of sixty more than a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust. Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what’s next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is wireless station, so long as it receives message of beauty, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young. When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.
